Saturday, May 16

Hang Gliding Spectacular: Join professional hang glider pilots, fans, families, and friends for this Kitty Hawk Flight School tradition. The Hang Gliding Spectacular is the longest-running hang gliding competition in the world! Kitty Hawk Kites invites pilots from all over the country to come fly with us for this four-day event at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head, NC. Click here for more information.

9:00 am – 10:00 am – Soulshine Yoga - Core Fusion: Core fusion is a 45 minute core toning and strengthening. A variety of movements and exercises to help ease the body and to destress the mind. 10:30 am – 11:30 am – Soulshine Yoga – Mindful Stretching: 60 minutes of allowing the body to unwind and relax through a series of shapes and postures. 10:00 am – 11:00 am – Soulshine Yoga - Strength & Balance (chair): An hour class focusing on balance, strength training and stretching. Chairs will be available if needed. Upcoming Events

Monday, May 25, 9 am – 5 pm, the Wright Brothers National Memorial celebrates Memorial Day by waiving entrance fees! Come visit the historic site where the Wright brothers achieved the world’s first powered, controlled, and sustained flight in a heavier-than-air aircraft. Location: 1000 North Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills.

Tuesday, May 26, 5 pm – 7 pm, Currituck County community meeting: Currituck County commissioners and staff will host a community meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. Citizens may register for the meeting here, registration is not required but is encouraged. Click here for more information.

June 12-13, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Rogallo Kite Festival,: Kitty Hawk Kites and friends will be displaying amazing 30 – 100 ft kites on top of Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Tuesday, June 23 – Wednesday, June 24, 10 am – 5 pm, Under the Oaks Art Festival: a fine art show which offers a colorful array of vibrant artworks on the grounds of the postcard-perfect setting of the Whalehead in Historic Corolla. This popular festival brings together a collection of talented artists and visitors can expect to find paintings and prints, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodworks, and much more. Free for all attendees, local food concessions are available as well as a silent auction that is open to the public.
